Representative Firm Cases

Mr. York and Mr. Gaskill have handled numerous complex civil trials and cases throughout Georgia as well as the Southeast.   Mr. York and Mr. Gaskill are both admitted to the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals, as well as all State and Federal Courts in Georgia.   Mr. York was selected to appear in a well publicized toxic tort case as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia.   Early in his career he tried numerous medical malpractice cases to verdict on behalf of Defendant physicians.  He has been involved in complex Multi-District Litigation for medical device and other manufacturers, and has represented Plaintiffs and Defendants in complex and catastrophic product liability cases.   From 1995 through 2016, Chris served as Georgia counsel for Takata, a seatbelt and airbag manufacturer and has extensive experience handling seatbelt and airbag defect cases.

Mr. York and Mr. Gaskill worked together handling the civil portion of the first “infanticide” case in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

One representative case Mr. York recently tried was on behalf of a Defendant property owner, 1180 Peachtree Office Investors, LLC, a major building in mid-town Atlanta, accused of negligent and inadequate security.  Plaintiff requested $5M at trial and that trial lasted a week.  The jury returned a defense verdict on behalf of York Gaskill's client, 1180 Peachtree.

Mr. York and Mr. Gaskill are also frequently involved in complex civil litigation.  On the Plaintiff's side Mr. York and Mr. Gaskill settled a multi-million dollar injury matter in 2014 on behalf of two minor children who were catastrophically injured in a crosswalk in Johns Creek, Georgia.  Each of the children had extended hospital stays and complex injuries.  Mr. York now serves now as the personal co-conservator assisting with the administration of the funds secured on behalf of the children.

On the Defense side of the practice, Chris appeared in 2014 for a Defendant in a complex product liability matter in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.  That case was quickly dismissed.

Mr. York was lead counsel in a case in January 2017 that involved the defense of a web developer accused of losing a database that the Plaintiff claimed was worth $4.1 million. The Fulton County jury returned a verdict of just over $3,000.  The Trial Court is now considering the entry of a Judgment in favor of York Gaskill's client for attorney fees.

Mr. York also tried a case in May 2017 on behalf of a gentleman who was served broken glass at a restaurant.  The restaurant in that case offered $33,000 to settle prior to trial, defending the case by arguing that Plaintiff's damages were attributable to acid reflux and not erosive esophagitis. The Fulton State Court jury brought back a verdict against the restaurant for $867,000.   No appeal was taken on that verdict.

In the summer of 2017 a class action lawsuit that Mr. York and Mr. Gaskill have been working on since 2011, was successfully certified as a class by the Superior Court of Fulton County, and is currently being litigated in that Court.  That case went twice to the Georgia Court of Appeals, and ultimately the Court of Appeals upheld the Trial Court's decision to certify the class. This website will be updated with pleadings in connection with that Class Action matter based on the direction from that Court.

Mr. York also has extensive experience with mediating matters, large and small.  Mr. York is a registered neutral with the Georgia Supreme Court Commission on Dispute Resolution, General Civil Mediation.
